We are volcanoes.
When we women offer our experience as our truth,
as human truth, all the maps change.

The Gypsy Mamas, founded in 2001, is a performance and installation group
nurturing interdisciplinary collaboration between women artists in the development
of new and original work. Our focus is on exploratory creative process, presentation,
and performance. The Gypsy Mamas is dedicated to seeking and giving voice to
female creativity and discovering a female aesthetic. Our curiosity is whetted
by work that does not necessarily follow a linear path but is nourished within
a female sense of time—cyclical and connected to the rhythms of nature.
A sense of time that breathes…
Mama…mother…that which is the origin, source, or nurturer of something.
